During COVID, when markets were shut down, I focused on creating fine art on fabric and paper — more for myself than anything else. I took classes at the Museum school. I tried to use up all the scraps and dyestuffs in my studio, I continued to experiment with natural dyes and forage natural materials around Texas.

La Grange Landscapes

Butterflight
The butterfly vine at my Houston home blooms with yellow flowers that become butterfly-like seed pods. The installation outside the canvas can be adapted to any setting.

Another piece inspired by Lake Fayette, close to the water's edge. I wanted to bring out the texture of the natural habitat, so I enhanced the printing with embroidery.

My first political piece, inspired by the drama at the border. The labels were added to a finished piece, showing the imprint of inhumanity.
